Job Circular for the position of Midwife
Research, Training, and Management International (RTMI) is a national NGO, HQ is in Dhaka and Field Office in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. Apart from the research and training components, RTMI is also managing a number of projects in health, nutrition, protection and livelihoods. All these programs are supported by the Government of Bangladesh, donor agencies with UN and International organizations, e.g. UNFPA, WB, UNICEF, IOM, UN Women, etc.
RTM International is going to appoint one (01) Midwife to provide SRHR services in our assigned working area of the host population in all the upazilas (Sadar, Ukhiya, Teknaf, Ramu, Chokoria, Moheshkhali, Kutubdia and Pekua) of Cox’s Bazar District.
Requirements:
Educational requirements:
• Diploma in Midwifery with certificate from Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Working experience at Rohingya refugee camp will be an asset.
• Good communication skills in both English and Bangla.
• Knowing the Chattagram language will be an asset for the candidates.
01. | Give the necessary supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. |
02. | Provide full antenatal care, including screening tests in the hospital, community, and the home. |
03. | Provide counseling and advice before and after screening and tests. |
04. | Conduct deliveries on her own and care for the newborn infant. |
05. | Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth, by the principles of basic emergency obstetric care. |
06. | After delivery motivation/counseling/demonstration on breast feeding and newborn care, FP and personnel hygiene. |
07. | Identify high-risk pregnancies and making referrals to specialized govt./field hospital, doctors and other medical specialists. |
08. | Provide support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality, and neonatal death. |
09. | Supervise the provision of primary health care within the community by female health workers. |
10. | Give support and advice on the daily care of the baby, including breastfeeding, bathing, and making up feeds. |
11. | Provide all non-surgical methods of family planning, and counseling for surgical methods. |
12. | Follow established health center policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiatives; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards. |
13. | Ensure cleanliness; keep instruments and equipment serviceable and usable condition. |
14. | Maintain registers/ records of HFs. |
15. | Duly fill-up the partograph, referral form (during referral) and consent form to communicate the actual condition of the patient with the referred facility. |
16. | Any other responsibilities given by the Authority. |
