Research, Training, and Management International
(RTMI) is a national NGO, head quarter is in Dhaka and a Field Office in
Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. Apart from the research and training components,
RTMI is also managing a number of projects in health, nutrition,
protection and livelihoods. All these programs are supported by the
Government of Bangladesh, donor agencies with UN and International
organizations, e.g. UNFPA, WB, UNICEF, IOM, UN Women, etc. To support,
coordinate and manage Comprehensive PHC Services to Rohingya Refugees
and Host Community, RTMI needs a dynamic, proactive and hard-working
team player for its Cox’s Bazar Field Office team being based in Ukhiya.

Educational requirements:
• Honor’s & Master’s in Psychology from a recognized university.
• Applicants with relevant experience and GBV based trainings will be preferred.
Employment requirement and areas:
• Candidates with relevant working experience in an emergency context will get preference.
• A strong understanding of mental health issues, psychosocial support principles, and GBV prevention and response strategies including PSEA is essential.
• Candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Job Responsibilities :
As a dedicated Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and GBV Officer will play a pivotal role in providing essential mental health and psychosocial services to the affected population. Reporting to the Program Manager, your responsibilities encompass designing, implementing, and coordinating MHPSS and GBV interventions, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of these interventions.
Objective 1: Strategic Planning and Program Coordination
• Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive monthly work plan aligned with the Annual Work Plan (AWP).
• Set clear program strategies and work plans, in coordination with relevant managers, to achieve program objectives and operational requirements.
• Ensure the appropriate and high-quality implementation of MHPSS interventions within your designated area of responsibility.
Objective 2: Intersectoral Collaboration and Support
• Establish effective partnerships with other sectors to ensure seamless integration of mental health programs with health and gender-based violence (GBV) activities.
• Work closely with Clinic-in-charge/Field Coordinator to conduct situational analyses, informing optimal implementation strategies.
• Provide guidance and support to the MHPSS Team, delivering mental health and psychosocial services.
Objective 3: Community Engagement and Mobilization
• Engage directly with affected communities to identify MHPSS needs and ensure access to appropriate services.
• Contribute to the development of community mobilization strategies related to mental health and psychosocial support.
• Identify local partners and service points for individuals requiring assistance with mental health and psychosocial concerns.
Objective 4: Capacity Building and Training
• Provide mentorship to the staffs, building their capacity to offer effective mental health and psychosocial support.
• Conduct training for all staffs including volunteers on mental health, psychosocial support, and case management.
• Deliver technical and program management trainings for staff and volunteers.
Objective 5: Reporting and Coordination
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly and quarterly reports containing relevant data.
• Coordinate with UN, government, and NGO partners for cohesive prevention and response efforts.
Objective 6: Networking and Relationship Management
• Maintain positive working relationships with other projects of RTM International (RTMI) and external partners.
• Attend relevant coordination meetings related to MHPSS and relay pertinent information to senior management.
• Uphold RTMI’s Code of Conduct and contribute to the organization’s credibility.
Objective 7: General tasks
• Maintain close communication and work as per guidance of the Project Manager.
• Know, understand, and comply with all the policies of RTM International including HR Policy, PSEA, Code of conduct and Workplace policy
• Good communication skills in Bangla and English.
