Position:

Employment requirement and areas:
• RTM International requires Midwife for the disciplines of SRH and Maternal health services.
• Candidates with knowledge and skills in SRH, MNCH services will be preferred.
• Prepare delivery room and operating rooms for NVD and surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments and supplies are sterile and readily available.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Give the necessary supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.
2. Provide full antenatal care, including screening tests in the hospital, community, and the home.
3. Provide counseling and advice before and after screening and tests.
4. Conduct deliveries on her own and care for the newborn infant.
5. Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth, by the principles of basic emergency obstetric care.
6. After delivery motivation/counseling/demonstration on breast feeding and newborn care, FP and personnel hygiene.
7. Identify high-risk pregnancies and making referrals to specialized govt./field hospital, doctors and other medical specialists.
8. Provide support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality, and neonatal death.
9. Provide primary care to women of productive age, by the Basic Package of Health Services.
10. Supervise the provision of primary health care within the community by female health workers.
11. Counsel and educate women, the family, and the community, in relevant areas of health and provide a program of parenthood preparation and complete preparation for childbirth including advice on hygiene and nutrition.
12. Give support and advice on the daily care of the baby, including breastfeeding, bathing, and making up feeds.
13. Provide all non-surgical methods of family planning, and counseling for surgical methods.
14. Follow established health center policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiatives; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
15. Decreased risk of needing a cesarean and reduced rate of labor induction and augmentation.
16. Help to decrease infant mortality rates and preterm birth and take all initiatives which are necessary in case of need and carry out where necessary immediate resuscitation.
17. Help to decrease the maternal mortality rate and pregnancy-related sufferings.
18. Ensure cleanliness; keep instruments and equipment serviceable and usable condition.
19. Keep all arrangements ready for infection prevention.
20. Keep all materials for recording and reporting ready for use.
21. Ensure availability of blood donor who will accompany patient as per the matrix for “quick referral”.
22. Supervise activities of support staff (cleaner, guard & others) for ensuring the cleanliness, infection prevention including waste management, timely food supply for clients.
23. Maintain registers/ records of HFs.
24. Duly fill-up the partograph, referral form (during referral) and consent form to communicate the actual condition of the patient with the referred facility.
25. Maintain registers/ records in the Birthing Unit.
26. Carry out duties as directed by the Supervisors.
27. Any other responsibilities given by the Authority.

Educational requirements:
• Diploma in Midwifery with certificate from Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Experience and other Requirements:
• Minimum 1- year experience in the related field.
• Minimum 1- year experience in the related field.
The Following capabilities are mandatory:
-- Working experience at Rohingya refugee camp will be an asset.
-- Good communication skills in both English and Bangla.
