Job Announcement for the position of Clinical Mentor

 

Research, Training and Management (RTM) International NGO working in the Cox’s Bazar district and Bhasan Char, Hatiya upazila, Noakhali to implement different projects supported by Government of Bangladesh, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF and others development partners. The clinical mentors will provide technical and clinical support and coordinate with facility managers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to establish the smooth functioning of all SRHR services in the facilities.

• Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’sbazar.

Employment requirement and areas:
• RTM international requires Clinical Mentor for the disciplines of mentoring service to the service providers.
• Candidates with knowledge and skills in SRHR activities, mentoring technique and communication skills will be preferred.  
• Candidate work experience in Rohingya context is an added value for the position.

Job Responsibilities:

The humanitarian clinical mentors will support the delivery of effective SRHR services in supported health facilities where midwives are working. Clinical Mentor will work for improving Midwives Knowledge and skills for implementing effective SRHR services. Main responsibilities are as following:

1. Emergency Obstetric and New-born Care (EmONC) services Including referral systems management.
2. Quality and respectful routine pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care
3. Family Planning services  
4. Prevention and health response to GBV service provision.
5. STI prevention, syndromic diagnosis, and treatment or reference.
6. Provide technical support, including coordination with UNFPA response, capacity development of service providers, etc.
7. Support Midwives and other health care providers in the provision of SRHR services including EmONC provision and when needed referral. Facilitate all patients with obstetrics emergencies coming from the community being received and provided with initial stabilization.
8. Ensure service delivery for EmONC, WHO-guided quality ANC and routine maternity care, STI, MR, 24/7 PAC and referral, health response to GBV including referral (in coordination with the GBV team), and adolescent-friendly services
9. Ensure availability of supplies as per need
10. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to the Midwives, Nurses, FWV, and Doctors for practicing evidence-based practices as per quality standards.
11.  Documentation of care provision
12. Liaisons with relevant supervisors including Nursing Supervisor, DPHN, OBGYN consultant, UFPO, MOMCH, and UH&FPO to ensure enabling environments for the above-mentioned practices
13. Conduct joint visits with partners including the Nursing Supervisor, DPHN, OBGYN consultant and UH&FPO
14. Stay informed about relevant literature and national guidelines and ensure the knowledge is passed on to camp-level facilities.
15. Document and generate knowledge and good practices based on current practices, for scaling up successful interventions and for re-adjusting interventions
16. Ensure enabling environments within interdisciplinary teams for Midwives and other health care providers for SRHR services.
17. Facilitate Evidence based care is practiced by the service providers.
18. Direct observation, on job training and mentoring to the managers and service providers at the primary clinical sites.
19. Facilitate orientation, meeting, and workshop with the concern personnel at primary clinical site including effective team work and enabling of SRHR providers (Midwives).
20. Prepare facility level report and submit it to the Supervisor for compilation.
21. Prepare monthly Work Plan, travel plan and submit accomplishment report monthly basis.
22. Participate in district and Upazila monthly meeting and ensure discussion on SRHR agenda.
23. Participate in different training, meetings and workshop as required.
24. Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor/organization.

Educational requirements:
• MBBS Completed any reputed medical institute. Must have registration from Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
• Post-graduation training in gynecology & obstetric at least 6 months.
• CMU/DMU.

Experience and other Requirements:

Minimum 1-year experience in the related field.

The following capabilities are mandatory:
-- Experienced in Ultrasound.
-- Good communication skills in both English and Bangla.
