Job Announce for the position of Adolescent Health Educator

 

Research, Training and Management (RTM) International NGO working in the Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan char to implement different projects supported by Government of Bangladesh, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF and others development partners. To provide Health Education to Adolescent in different locations, RTM requires to fill up some vacancies.

Name of the Position:
• Adolescent Health Educator - Female.

Vacancy:
• One (01) position.

Employment Status:
• Contractual.

Job Location:
• Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’sbazar.

Educational requirements:
• Bachelor degree or equivalent degree from any recognized institute. Experience candidates will be preferred.
• Relevant work experienced candidate will get higher priority.

Experience and other Requirements:
• Minimum 1-year experience in the related field.

The Following capabilities are mandatory:
• Good communication skills in Bangla and English.
• Chattagram local language will be given preference. Work experience at Rohiynga refugee camp will be an asset.

Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement educational programs and workshops focused on adolescent health, covering topics such as reproductive health, mental health, nutrition, substance abuse, and healthy lifestyles.
• Regular service mapping in the catchment area of ASRH corner.
• Conduct health education sessions at the adolescent corners with the adolescent pregnant mothers (YMSGP).
• Time to time upload of session data in KoBo software.
• Close linkage with the Midwives and keeping them updated about the adolescent pregnant mothers in the catchment area for ANC, Facility delivery and PNC.
• Close linkage with FP service providers and keeping them updated about the adolescent mothers in the catchment area who need family planning methods.
• Better collaboration with the CHWs for case follows up and referral.
• Consultation with husbands, in-laws and parents of adolescent pregnant mothers for better service uptake.
• Functioning the referral mechanism for effective health response to GBV cases maintaining client’s confidentiality and privacy.
• Providing SRH information/ the sharing the phone number of centre’s which is dedicated for 24/7 services so that any girls feel confident that they will get services.
• Taking note, making record of participants, referral and follow up record to understand the progress and impact of the ASRH corner in relation to service uptakes along with improved ASRH information.
• Provide accurate and age-appropriate information to adolescents, addressing their questions and concerns about physical, emotional, and social well-being.
• Engage in outreach activities to raise awareness about adolescent health issues, advocating for the importance of preventive healthcare and regular check-ups.
• Stay updated with the latest research, trends, and best practices in adolescent health education, attending conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, gathering feedback from participants and stakeholders, and making necessary adjustments to improve the impact of adolescent health education initiatives.
