Job Responsibilities:
• Position Summary:
The Perinatal Mortality Coordination Officer will play a critical role in conducting perinatal mortality surveillance in the Rohingya refugee context. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing activities aimed at reducing perinatal mortality rates, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and ensuring that accurate data is collected and analysed to inform evidence-based interventions. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare providers, community health workers, and relevant stakeholders to support perinatal mortality reduction initiatives.
• Key Responsibilities:
1. Perinatal Mortality Surveillance:
• Conduct systematic perinatal mortality surveillance in the Rohingya refugee context.
• Collaborate with healthcare facilities and community health workers to collect data on perinatal deaths.
• Ensure accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of perinatal mortality data.
2. Data Management:
• Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of perinatal mortality cases.
• Regularly review and clean data to identify trends and patterns.
• Prepare and submit timely reports on perinatal mortality rates and trends.
3. Capacity Building:
• Provide training and capacity-building support to healthcare providers and community health workers on perinatal mortality surveillance protocols.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making among healthcare teams.
4. Quality Improvement:
• Collaborate with healthcare facilities to identify gaps in perinatal care and develop quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to reduce perinatal mortality.
5. Community Engagement:
• Engage with the Rohingya community to raise awareness about perinatal health and promote maternal and child well-being.
• Facilitate community-based initiatives to enhance perinatal care practices.
6. Collaboration and Advocacy:
• Work closely with relevant government agencies, NGOs, and partners to coordinate perinatal mortality reduction efforts.
• Advocate for policies and interventions that prioritize maternal and child health.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of all activities, meetings, and training sessions.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on program activities and outcomes.
8. Others:
• As per the direction of Sr. PM, he will be responsible for doing some extra activities.

• MBBS with a Master’s degree in Public Health. PGT on Pediatrics will be considered as an asset.
Experience and other Requirements: Following capabilities are mandatory:
• Strong understanding of perinatal mortality surveillance protocols and data management.
• Previous experience in public health or healthcare, with a focus on maternal and child health.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and resource-constrained environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in the local language is desirable.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and the well-being of Rohingya refugees.
